After you've done the procedures that Google asks you to do on their end, the following must be done to your domain name's MX record:
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Click the MX Entry icon under Mail section.
- In the dropdown box in the Change MX Entry section, select the domain name you are setting up for google apps.
- Leave the priority as 0.
- Paste the Google MX record in the last field. Be sure to remove the ending dot, so that cPanel will accept it. Like so, ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
- Press Change, then press the "Go Back" link.
- Under the "Current MX Entries" section, under the "Always Accept" column, press the "Set to No" button.
