What is FTP?

FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is a way of transferring files over the Internet from a computer to a server. FTP is a special way to login into a server for the purposes of sending files.

In terms of MediaCatch, FTP gives you the ability to put a file from your computer onto our server. If you have a file such as index.html on your computer, you can upload it through FTP and have it be available at www.mydomain.com/index.html.
