What is Bandwidth / Data Transfer?

Bandwidth and Data Transfer differ slightly depending on the service you purchase from us.

The amount of data sent to/from the internet community through your website is called "data transfer".

Data transfer is metered on a monthly basis, much like water or
electricity is metered for your home or business, because the network
carriers only have a certain amount of capacity available.

If you think of the internet connection to your website as a pipe, you
will quickly get the idea - only so much traffic can go through the
"pipe" before it runs out of capacity, this is where "bandwidth" comes
in.

If your contact email is set correctly in your control panel, the
system should notify you when you reach 80% of your bandwidth limit.
